Consolidation of Newton and Fredon Municipal Courts

On March 1, 2025, the Town of Newton entered into an Interlocal Services Agreement with Fredon Township for the consolidation of their Municipal Courts. The daily operation and court sessions of the Municipal Court of Fredon Township (1907) and the Municipal Court of the Town of Newton (1915) will be conducted at the Newton Municipal Building. As a Shared Court, each court remains separate, each keeping their own identity.

Payments

Each Municipal Court offers payment of your tickets through NJMCDirect payment system via the New Jersey Courts website. The Newton Court Code is 1915. The Green Court Code is 1908. The Fredon Court Code is 1907. Payments may also be made in person by cash, check, or money order. In-person credit card (Discover, Visa or MasterCard) payments are accepted for Newton Court violations only.
