Cancellation and Refund of Taxes Due to Totally Disabled Veteran Status

WHEREAS, the Department of Veterans Affairs has determined Reinier Zwart, owner of property at Block 409, Lot 12, 103 Birch Drive, is totally disabled, and the Tax Assessor granted this exemption effective May 1, 2026, and that Mr. Zwart is to be exempt from that day forward in accordance with N.J.S.A. 54:4-3.30 et seq.

2026 tax on this property                   $9,561.25

244 days = taxes to be cancel        -$6,417.83

Taxes Paid                                         –$4,507.56

Refund                                              $1,364.14

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Committee of Fredon Township that the Tax Collector is hereby authorized to cancel property taxes in the amount of $6,417.83

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Mayor and Committee of Fredon Township that the Municipal Financial Officer is hereby authorized to issue a refund in the amount of $1,364.14 for taxes previously paid in the 2nd quarter of 2026 to:
