Awarding Contract for Van Horn Road, Section I Improvements

WHEREAS, the Township of Fredon (the “Township”) duly advertised for sealed bids for Proposed Improvements to Van Horn Road, Section I, in accordance with the Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq.; and

WHEREAS, sealed bids were publicly opened and read at the Fredon Municipal Building, 443 Route 94, Newton, New Jersey 07860, on September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time; and

WHEREAS, the bids received were reviewed and tabulated, and the Township Engineer has recommended award of contract to the lowest responsible bidder, as set forth below; and

WHEREAS, the Township Committee has determined that the bid submitted by DCR Companies Inc., not to exceed the amount of $176,959.00, is the lowest responsible bid received and is in the best interest of the Township to accept; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are available for this purpose, as evidenced by Certification No. _____________;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Fredon, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey, as follows:

1. The contract for VAN HORN ROAD, SECTION I IMPROVEMENTS is hereby awarded to DCR Companies Inc. (the “Contractor”), located at 104 Norcross Avenue, Unit C, Metuchen, NJ 08840, not to exceed the amount of $176,959.00.

2. The Mayor, Municipal Clerk, and/or such other officials as may be necessary are hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract documents on behalf of the Township, subject to the Contractor’s submission of all required insurance certificates, performance and payment bonds, and other documentation required by the contract specifications and applicable law.

3. A certified copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Contractor, the Township Engineer, the Chief Financial Officer, and the Municipal Clerk’s file.
