Cancel Taxes Due to Veteran Exemption

WHEREAS, the Department of Veterans Affairs has determined Theodore Wetklow, owner of property at Block 1401, Lot 59, 19 Scenic Drive, is totally disabled, and the Tax Assessor granted this exemption effective May 19, 2026, and that Mr. Wetklow is to be exempt from that day forward in accordance with N.J.S.A. 54:4-3.30 et seq.

2026 tax on this property                 $10,715.65

227 days = taxes to be cancelled   -$6,664.25

Taxes Paid                                         –$5,066.88

Refund                                              $1,015.48

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Committee of Fredon Township that the Tax Collector is hereby authorized to cancel property taxes in the amount of $6,664.25

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Mayor and Committee of Fredon Township that the Municipal Financial Officer is hereby authorized to issue a refund in the amount of $1,015.48 for taxes previously paid in the 2nd quarter of 2026 to:
