RESOLUTION 2026 – 83

Authorizing the Demolition  of the Municipal Sheds Located at Lodestar Park

WHEREAS, the municipal sheds located at Lodestar Park within the Township of Fredon have been determined by the Township to be aged, deteriorating, and no longer structurally sound or compliant with current safety standards; and

WHEREAS, the demolition and removal of said sheds are necessary to eliminate potential safety hazards, improve the overall aesthetics of Lodestar Park, and clear the area for future municipal use or park improvements; and

WHEREAS, the removal of the structures will be carried out in strict accordance with all applicable local, county, and state laws, building codes, and environmental regulations; and

WHEREAS, the Township Committee of the Township of Fredon has reviewed the proposed demolition plan and determined that the removal of these structures is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the township and its residents;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Committee of the Township of Fredon, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey, that the demolition of the municipal sheds located at Lodestar Park is hereby authorized; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Public Works, or an authorized designated contractor, is directed to proceed with the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible removal and disposal of the structures and resulting debris; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all necessary permits, if any, shall be properly obtained from the local building department prior to the commencement of any demolition work; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
