Resolution Memorializing a Stipend for the Zoning Officer for Municipal Court Appearances

WHEREAS, the Township of Fredon (“Township”) employs a Zoning Officer who, in the
performance of official duties, is required from time to time to attend and appear at Municipal
Court proceedings, including hearings and sessions related to zoning enforcement matters; and
WHEREAS, the Township Committee recognizes that Municipal Court appearances require the
Zoning Officer to dedicate additional time and effort beyond routine administrative duties; and
WHEREAS, the Township Committee finds it appropriate and in the best interest of the Township
to compensate the Zoning Officer for each such court appearance by way of a per-session stipend;
and
WHEREAS, the Township Committee has discussed and approved the establishment of a stipend
in the amount of $75.00 per session/appearance, effective May 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Township Committee desires to memorialize this determination by formal
resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Committee of the Township of
Fredon, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey, as follows:

1. Stipend Established. The Township hereby establishes a stipend of $75.00 per
   session/appearance to be paid to the Zoning Officer for each Municipal Court session or
   proceeding attended in the performance of official Township duties.
2. Effective Date. The stipend shall be effective as of May 1, 2026.
3. Payment. Payment of the stipend shall be processed through the Township’s standard
   payroll or voucher procedures, as applicable, and shall be subject to applicable payroll taxes and
   withholdings as required by law.
4. Effective Date of Resolution. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
   adoption.
