PARKS & OPEN SPACE
Lodestar Park
Lodestar Park is one of Fredon Township’s most valued public assets. Situated at the corner of Route 94 and Stillwater Road — directly across from the municipal complex and Fredon Township School — the park spans approximately 81 acres of woodland, meadow, and wetland. It offers year-round access to trails, athletic fields, and indoor facilities for residents of Fredon Township and the broader Sussex County community.
About the Park

The park’s shared-use trail winds through a mix of woodland, open meadow, and riparian habitat along a hemlock ravine and stream. The trail is open year-round and is popular with hikers, runners, families, and dog walkers. Look for the community fairy houses along the way.
The trail begins at the end of the park road. Note that portions of the trail have grades exceeding 12% — visitors using mobility equipment should use the paved section near the parking area. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in designated areas.
